If you are contracting as a consumer and have purchased:

  1. A physical product (e.g., a book): You may cancel within fourteen (14) days, starting the day after you receive the product.
  2. A physical “on demand” product (e.g., print on demand book): You may cancel within fourteen (14) days, starting the day after you place the order, provided processing has not begun. If processing has started, you may still cancel within this period but will be liable for any costs incurred.
  3. Digital Content (e.g., eBook): You may cancel within fourteen (14) days, starting the day after you place the order, provided you have not accessed the content. Accessing the content waives your right to cancel.

If eligible, you will receive a full refund using the original payment method, including any shipping costs. For discounted orders, the refund will include the discounted amount. For physical products, you are responsible for return shipping costs. To cancel, please contact our Customer Service department using our Contact Form or email us directly at [email protected] to inform us in writing.

Physical products must be returned immediately in the same condition at your own cost and risk. We will not process a refund until we have received the physical product.

You must take reasonable care of the products while in your possession. Failure to do so may result in a claim for compensation.

eBook Returns

To request a refund, please use the Contact Form or email us directly at [email protected]. Please include your order number and reason for cancellation. Refunds are only available for purchases made from Routledge.com. For eBooks purchased from other vendors, you will need to contact them directly.

Print Returns

Before returning any item, please contact our customer service department using our Contact Form or email us directly using the email address corresponding to your region in the Regional Policies section below.

You are responsible for return postage/carriage costs unless the item is damaged, defective, or incorrect.

Unauthorized returns will not be credited or acknowledged. We are not liable for financial losses from unauthorized returns. For incorrect or damaged items, please contact Customer Services within thirty (30) days of receiving your order.
